La Grange Highlands – Kitchen
Click to view Description: By tearing down a wall separating the kitchen from the dining room, we allowed a confined kitchen to become more convivial and less utilitarian.  The cabinetry is from KraftMaid, a recipient of the Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP). Dupont Corian was used for the main countertops with porcelain tile backsplash in a brick pattern, and the raised bar countertop and the pass-thru window sill are made of Silestone Quartz.  The general lighting and the under-cabinet lights are LED lights controlled with dimmers.  Low-VOC paints and hardwood floor sealer were used for the project.
Downers Grove – Kitchen
Click to view Description: For this spacious kitchen, we combined a home office space and an underutilized back room; we removed the structural wall partition and installed a steel beam to support the master suite above.  The floor has been reinforced to support the large porcelain tiles with electric radiant heat floor under and the 4x8 island topped with a granite countertop.  The cabinetry is from KraftMaid; the ceiling above the island is covered with American tin panels.
La Grange Highlands – Bathroom
Click to view Description:The owner wanted a bathroom to age in place.  For this purpose, we stole 1 foot from the adjoining bedroom and converted one hallway closet into a walk-in shower with a Corian base, handheld shower, a seat and a niche for soap and shampoo.  The cabinetry is from Thomasville topped with a Corian countertop with integral sink. Floor and walls are covered with porcelain tiles in a brick pattern.
Romeoville - Kitchen
Click to view Description::  At the owner’s request, we doubled the size of the existing kitchen by eliminating the wall separating the kitchen from the dining room that was moved to the underused formal living room.  A large window was replaced by a Marvin French door to give direct access to a deck and swimming pool. The cabinetry is from KraftMaid topped with a Silestone countertop and tumbled stone tiles for backsplash. The island is on wheels to be moved away for party.
Westchester - Bathroom
Click to view Description:To make the bathroom feels more spacious, we replaced the tub with a 3’ x5’ walk-in shower ,“floating” cabinets and casement window. The shower base is made out of terrazzo which is crushed marble. Walls and floor are covered with porcelain tiles in a standard straight pattern.
Burr Ridge – Front Porch
Click to view Description: We enlarged the existing front porch to make it more useful and convivial, adding over 200 sf of outdoor living space.  For this project, we used Tendura tongue and groove composite decking, beadboard ceiling, and cedar handrails and posts.
